Target Take Charge of Education
In March 2008, MCA received a check for $2,500 from the Target Take Charge of Education School Fundraising program. Target donates up to 1% of purchases made using a REDcard to eligible K-12 schools, including MCA. Thank you to our MCA community; by using your REDcards, your shopping efforts are paying big dividends to MCA each quarter through this program!
Baseball Team Featured in Star Tribune
The prep sports section of the Star Tribune featured an article about the MCA Varsity baseball team on Wednesday, April 2. The article focused on the up and coming players who have high hopes to make it to the Class 1A state tournament this year, which was accomplished by the Varsity team last year for the first time in the history of MCA baseball. MCA State Science Fair Team 2008
Maranatha has three students who earned a purple ribbon on top of their blue ribbon at the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair and competed at the Minnesota State Science Fair in St. Paul March 30- April 1, 2008.
Our state team included: Kyra Underbakke (Grade 12), Kelly Sobczak (Grade 10), and Alex Houg (Grade 8).
MCA Senior Elected as Delegate to the Republican Convention
Kyra Underbakke, Class of 2008, was elected as a delegate to the Third Congressional District and the Minnesota State Republican Convention on Saturday, March 1. Kyra said, “I have always been interested in politics and believe my generation needs to step up and make a difference in the political process."
